Our approved project, called ‘Open Up!’, takes place between March 1st and June 30th 2011, at the High School for the Visually Impaired (Liceul pentru Deficienti de Vedere) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 2010-RO-42 in the EVS database (http://ec.europa.eu/youth/evs/aod/hei_form_en.cfm?EID=62000358217)
The EVS with us includes activities such as: arts and crafts workshops depending on the volunteer’s skills,

sports activities, especially volleyball, or aerobics, or other sports that volunteers can organize, assistance during language classes, especially conversation in English, cultural trips or presentations, music workshops, , doing one to one activities involving children with multiple disabilities (for example, walking with students who have weak mobility skills), producing special materials, adapted educational games, cooking and teaching daily living skills etc. None of these activities are compulsory and the schedule is created in accordance with volunteers skills and interests. We want to host two volunteers who share a flat with two bedrooms and shared bathroom and kitchen and who will do activities together, as a team, individually, or alongside our teachers.
Since the project is already started and one of the two selected volunteers has just cancelled her EVS, we are urgently looking for someone who could join the project as soon as possible. Our volunteer is a very pleasant and sociable young lady from Denmark, who is looking forward to having a colleague to share her EVS with.
We are looking for volunteers who love children and teenagers, who are open to meeting and working with people who are different, who are friendly, patient, responsible and flexible. Volunteers should be able both to assist teachers and school personell in different activities and to organize and lead activities, individually, or in a team.
Volunteers will have many learning opportunities, not only through formal or non formal trainings, but also, through their day-to-day activities, alongside our experienced teachers. We believe that this EVS will offer them a rich international experience and will have a great impact for their personal and professional lives.
